Singapore Chiropractic for familiesBack II Life was established in 2005. We care for a large number of patients in our Singapore clinics (Orchard Road & Raffles Place), and Dr. Neil Stakes has helped many people overcome a wide array of health issues. Even so, a common issue that seems to stop a lot of folks from getting care is whether or not chiropractic adjustments are safe. Well, according to three different studies (out of many on the subject), the answer to this question is a resounding: "Yes! Chiropractic is safe!"

Australian Study: Chiropractic is Safe

The first study(1) was published in Spine and involved 183 women and men. Each individual was affected by spinal pain, and half of the individuals received real chiropractic adjustments while the remaining patients were given two sham chiropractic treatment sessions. Information was gathered after each real or fake adjustment to identify whether or not any unpleasant negative effects were caused by the genuine chiropractic adjustments.

Researchers reported that nobody reported any significant unfavorable side effects in any way after getting one or two sessions of chiropractic care. Some individuals did state that they experienced a headache (9 percent) or muscle stiffness (37 percent) post-treatment, but the effects were not serious.

Large US Survey Reports that Chiropractic is Safe

The next article(2), also released in the influential medical journal, Spine, was conducted in an effort to ascertain the safety of chiropractic care. The test group was much larger -- 20,000 people. Each participant received chiropractic adjustments of the cervical spine, with over 50,000 total adjustments for all study participants.

Once again, the researchers found no serious negative side effects. The experts determined the risk of total side effects to be about six out of every 10,000 consultations or every 100,000 treatment sessions. And, just as with the previous study, some participants did report non-serious, milder, side effects such as dizziness (less than 2%) or a headache (4%), and this caused the researchers to conclude that "the risk of a serious adverse event, immediately or up to 7 days after treatment, was low to very low."

Chiropractic Is Safe for Children

This third study(3) is unique from the first two reports, as it focuses on the safety of chiropractic care for kids. In this article, the researchers analyzed data reported by both chiropractors and parents involving 816 children who participated in 7,173 chiropractic treatment sessions.

Out of 5,438 chiropractic appointments made for the young ones, chiropractors answering the survey documented only three cases where there were adverse side effects. When parents were questioned, they indicated only two adverse side effects out of 1,735 visits. Furthermore, both chiropractors and parents reported "a high rate of improvement with respect to the children's presenting complaints."

Based on studies like these, chiropractic has been found to be safe and effective for everyone. To find out what chiropractic can do for you, call 62351220 NOW or click to schedule an online appointment  immediately!
